Truck crashes cause thousands of deaths and hundreds-of-thousands of injuries annually. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) reports there were 333,000 large trucks involved in traffic crashes in 2012. In these crashes, 3,921 people were killed and 104,000 people were injured. Truck accidents are more likely than car crashes to result in injuries or fatalities occurring because of the large size of trucks.
Unfortunately, the type of truck crash can also make a difference in the likelihood of injuries or deaths occurring.
